Sometimes I am offered a band to write an introduction piece for and clicking on their official website causes me to wonder how a recently formed band can afford to have create a website that looks so nice. It must have been designed by a trendy man named Gustav from Copenhagen who wears thick chunky glasses and openly calls people tacky… in this case judge a band by their website, they are all class.

Four brothers from Sydney form the feel good band of The Wildbloods. Your new favourite indie pop rock band? We think so! More great music coming out of Australia.

The interesting thing about this group from Sydney is that all four members are brothers. That’s equally adorable as it is picturesque. Is Wildbloods really their last name? I smell the Ramones here. Besides, the songs played by The Wildbloods sound exactly like the colour scheme of their website, which is made up of colours on the palette you don’t know the name of but are happy to just call purple-ish red.

The Wildbloods play their own brand of happy upbeat pop rock, with the emphasis placed on lyrical storytelling of a feel good nature, and light clean channelled guitar riffs. It’s slightly boppy and very gratuitously Australian. Some people will find the music so happy it makes them cringe, like drinking cordial at too high a concentration, but the majority of conservative people will probably find The Wildbloods to be enjoyable. If a mother approaching fourty happened across a show she’d try and drag her husband into the centre for a dance, much to his disdain.

The Wildbloods have a commendable schedule of live shows, and are halfway through their Tattoo’s & Pole Dancing tour of the east coast. If you’re interested you can check out the remaining dates below.
