Already, in their short time together, Melbourne based hip-hop five-piece Girl Zone have supported such international names as Noname, Klein and Tank, and the Bangas. They spit out an booming brand of rap music that’s unlike anything else making the rounds… and perhaps that’s because they have an average age of eleven-years-old.

Bursting at the seems with energy and colour, the group have quickly built a strong following with their unique music. If you haven’t already been paying attention, it’s definitely time you started.

Meet Girl Zone, the Melbourne based rap group with an average age of eleven who are taking over the Australian hip-hop scene.

Most of us met in primary school except for Zoe who we met later and became friends with,” the band say of their formation.

Taking inspiration from such artists as Rihanna, Fifth Harmony, Cardi B and Princess Nokia, Girl Zone’s music is a fresh arrival on the Aussie hip-hop scene. However, the group insist that their biggest inspirations are their Mums… “because they’re great and because they raised us and take care of us.

Next month, Girl Zone will be performing at Darebin Music Feast; a city-wide takeover of Darebin that’s set to feature a huge and diverse catalogue of the country’s best acts, including Jaala, RVG, Loose Tooth, and a stack of others.

When asked about how they’re feeling about playing the event, Girl Zone reply: “Excited, we feel great because it’s a new experience.

If you want to catch Girl zone live, you can do so at the Darebin Music Feast, taking place across the city of Darebin from October 18th-28th. More info here.
