Canadian couple astound the Winter Olympics with winning routine set to The Rolling Stones

A Canadian duo has wowed the Winter Olympics with their record breaking performance set to hits from The Rolling Stones, Eagles and Santana. While most athletes in the sport chose more traditional tunes, this truly was Blades of Glory in reality.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir took to the ice and delivered an astounding routine to The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy for The Devil, with smooth transitions into an acoustic rendition of the Eagles’ Hotel California and Santana’s Oye Como Va.

Winter Olympics

The pair took out the gold medal at the Winter Olympics with a score of 83.67, beating their own existing world record to thunderous applause.

The brief for the short dance section of the competition was to include latin flair into the routine, and while some chose the very obvious Despascito, others such as the French duo Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron chose tracks way off the mark… somehow Ed Sheeran isn’t making us think of spicy flair.

We highly recommend you check out Virtue and Moir’s incredible performance below.
