Grammys

With these Grammys the conversation around diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of everyones mind, as we approach another year of potential changes to our attitudes and choices in the industry.

So far Alessia Cara has taken out Best New Artist, with contenders including Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels and SZA. If album of the year is more what you are interested in with a lineup made up of Childish Gambino, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde and Bruno Mars, Mars ended up taking out the top prize. There has also been some uproar about the lack of female representation, with Lorde being the only woman nominated in that category.

Ed Sheeran has taken out the prize for Pop Song of The Year with his single Shape of You, pitted against the likes of P!NK, Kesha, Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson, his second win so far having already snagged Best Vocal Pop Album with Divide.

In addition to his already massive win in the Triple J Hottest 100, Kendrick Lamar also walked away with Best Rap Performance with DAMN., proving yet again that he is well on his way to becoming one of the most celebrated voices in hip hop.
