Opening Night Party
Ok, first thing’s first. What better way to kick off a month of festivities than with a night with some of the country’s best and most beloved bands?
Ball Park Music, San Cisco, Ruby Fields, and Tia Gostelow will be kicking off Brisbane Festival in style with an epic show at Riverstage. This promises to be the perfect first event for a festival brimming with incredible events.
The opening night party will be taking place on Saturday September 8th. Don’t miss out.
Tivoli In The Round: Gareth Liddiard
We love Gareth Liddiard. Anything the man touches is pure gold.
On September 27th, Liddiard will be taking a brief break from his experimental rock outfit Tropical Fuckstorm for a special solo performance.
Don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with Aussie music icon with the Tivoli’s unique round experience.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra
Yes, that’s right. For the first time since 2015, Ruben Nielson and his band will be returning to Aussie shores for an epic performance at The Tivoli.
Fresh off the release of their fourth album Sex & Food, Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be performing a stack of new music as well as a selection of their iconic back catalogue.
This’ll be taking place on September 15th… so if you want to catch Nielson’s unique concoction of indie-psych and funk live, make sure you head along.
Jen Cloher
On September 26th, you have been cordially invited to witness an intimate performance by one of Australia’s most celebrated singer-songwriters, Jen Cloher.
Her most recent self-titled album topped best-of album lists all over the country… and for good reason. Now it’s your chance to catch Cloher playing this material live in the intimate surrounds of The Courier-Mail Spiegeltent.
Closing Night Party
To cap off a huge week of great music, we highly suggest you head along to Brisbane Festival’s mammoth closing party.
Playing the party will be a massive catalogue of Aussie music heroes, including Meg Mac, Methyl Ethel, WAAX, Mane… and Brisbane’s hometown heroes Violent Soho.
We can’t think of any better way to wrap up another year of Brisbane Festival.
