It’s been seven years since Canadian psych overlords Black Mountain have graced our shores. Too long we say. Thankfully they are a merciful bunch, and have announced they will be heading our way this October, armed with their epic new record, IV.
Bow down, psych overlords Black Mountain are heading back to Australia after a seven year absence, armed with their epic new record, IV.
In their absence, the band relocated to the US West Coast, soaking in the sunnier climate while working on projects such as scoring the film Year Zero back in 2012.
Now the 5-piece are back with IV, a product of collaboration with bands such as Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room, Marissa Nadler and producer Randall Dunn. The record sees them traversing genres like never before, delving into stoner psych, hard rock and ethereal soundscapes with equal fervour.
For fans of Sabbathy sludge, Pink Floyd spaciness, and the epic drone of Sunn O))), this is the tour for you.
