Happy Mag’s guide to the Australian Tattoo Expo: Brisbane

Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated with the art form of tattooing. I’ve only got a couple myself, but the illustrations I’ve seen on others have completely blown my mind.

You could imagine my excitement when I discovered an entire expo dedicated to tattoos. I attended the festival last year, and it definitely did not disappoint. The Australian Tattoo Expo is back again this year, and this time round it’ll be descending upon the Sunshine State for the first time ever.

It’s that time of year. The Australian Tattoo Expo is fast approaching, and we’re here to sort you out with all the info you’ll need going in.

Artists

The list of artists attending the expo is virtually endless. The weekend will see a convergence of artists from all over the nation, including Ben Rorke, Hayden O’Connor, Josh Sara, Tater Tats, and many more.

It’s alongside this huge list of names that you’ll have the chance to meet your next artist, research the latest trends, and even treat yourself to a tattoo on the spot.

Retailers

In addition to the expansive list of artists descending upon the festival, there’ll also be a massive range of retailers setting up shop inside the expo gates.

Names include Journey’s Apparel, Stay Local Barbershop, and Newman Art Designs.

Tickets

There are a few different ticket options available, including an early bird one-day option for $29, but we recommend going for the full three days.

With this many different things to be seen, you’ll most likely need to hit up the full monty.

Check out the Australian Tattoo Expo website for a full schedule of live performances, and full lists of appearing artists.

Do yourself a favour and head along.
