Dive into the free-flowing, groove-laden sounds of Groove Lagoon’s new single Blue Bell

I don’t often make promises, but I will promise you this: once you dive into the infectious, free-flowing sounds of Auckland quartet Groove Lagoon, you’ll never want to leave. The band ooze out a hypnotic blend of sounds that you’ll be physically unable to resist.

With the release of their latest single Blue Bell, the band continue to build themselves as one of New Zealand’s most promising emerging acts.

On their new single Blue Bell, Auckland based four-piece Groove Lagoon craft an infectious slice of free-flowing listening bliss.

Throughout the new track, Groove Lagoon glide through a hallucinatory concoction of indie-rock, pop, psychedelia and reggae to craft a sound uniquely their own. With woozy vocals and groove-laden instrumentation, Blue Bell will swirl around your head before landing in the depths of your bones. From here, you’ll have no option but to move.

Since forming in 2017, the band (made up of guitarist and vocalist Joel Sunde, guitarist Josh Brajkovic, bassist Jake Sunde, and drummer Dan Wist) have carved out a unique place for themselves in the indie music scene. If you’re not already across this NZ four-piece, you’ve been dead-set missing out.

These are still early days for Groove Lagoon, but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material. For now, do yourself a favour and listen to Blue Bell above.
