Irish/American Celtic folk-punk group Flogging Molly have announced a string of sideshows in the wake of their Byron Bay Bluesfest debut.
The iconic band will grace stages nationally with an assortment of instruments in tow; lucky fans will be treated to an ensemble made up of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bodhráns, violin, tin whistle, banjo, mandolin, accordion, piano, concertina, bass guitar, drums and percussion.
Californian seven-piece Flogging Molly are bringing their distinctive fusion of traditional Irish music and hard-hitting punk to our shores.
Life is Good, the band’s latest release, seamlessly details seminal events in vocalist Dave King’s life, including his father’s premature death, his relocation from Ireland to the United States, and his memories of childhood in war-torn Ireland.
Life is Good is Flogging Molly’s first full-length release since 2011’s Speed of Darkness.
With over twenty years of experience under their belts, Flogging Molly are sure to put on a well crafted, mature and exciting performance, perfect for young and old fans alike. Their songs are passionately political and sociocultural, and their timeless sentiment presses on topics universally relevant, including the economy, unemployment and immigration policy.
Flogging Molly are set to play two shows over the course of Bluesfest, one on Friday and another on Saturday. Lucky fans from Auckland, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney will also be treated to a Bluesfest-presented sideshow.
