Young musician trying to get a leg up in the industry? Head along to Feedback: a music conference for young people

Being a young musician can be tough. I know this because I am one. The industry can often seem impenetrable; like it’s a group of tight elitists who have no interest in hearing your music, or inviting you into their circle.

I’ve learned that this isn’t true… but you do need to know certain things if you want to break into this wild industry. That’s where Feedback come in.

Feedback is a music conference for young people. They’re here to answer those questions you’ve always had, but never known who to ask.

Set to take place at the Vivid Ideas Exchange at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Feedback is a chance for you to learn about building a fan base, the process of releasing music, working with publicists, getting airplay, finding a manager, and all the other knowledge you need to kickstart your career.

Talking at the event will be artists Alex The Astronaut, Annie Bass, Christopher Port, Clypso, Kwame, and Ruby Fields, as well as a whole load of industry professionals including Aaron Girgis (manager of Skegss, Ruby Fields, Pist Idiots), Cathy Oates (Manager of Okenyo, Alex The Astronaut), and many others.

This is an awesome opportunity for young musicians… so do yourself a favour and head along.
