On their latest single Who The Fuck Is Cameron Brookes?, Auckland-based five-piece FALLSTATE present a blistering ode to friends.
Throughout the new single, FALLSTATE stomp through a concoction of punk, pop-punk, metalcore to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With crunching guitars, thunderous basslines, bone-rattling percussion, and flailing vocal hooks, Who The Fuck Is Cameron Brookes? is simultaneously addictive and hard-hitting; it’ll both smack you in the face and get stuck in your head.
The band say the track is “a love song to a one-of-a-kind, hard-partying, nail-punching, life-loving friend of ours, as well as an ode to friends in general.” The song’s new accompanying music video perfectly captures this sentiment.
Over the course of its near-five-minute duration, you’ll see FALLSTATE fucking around with one another, and just fucking with one another, before landing in an epic beach-side pose. It’s the best music video you’ll see this week.
The band are currently working on their sophomore EP, and judging by everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes from FALLSTATE. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what they deliver next.
