Falcifer to donate half of UNIFY Gathering performance fee to Girls Rock! Melbourne

Earlier this week, UNIFY Gathering announced four new acts would be joining the bill after removing I Killed The Prom Queen from the 2019 lineup. This came following backlash against vocalist Michael Crafter after a string of sexist comments he’d made two years ago came to light.

Amongst the new additions were Every Time I Die, Hellions, Saviour, as well as Adelaide band Falcifer, who have pledged to donate half of the earnings they make from their performance to Girls Rock! Melbourne.

In case you’re not across Girls Rock!, it’s a worldwide initiative giving young women, trans, and non-binary people the chance to hone their musical skills, write songs, join a band and perform live.

Taking to Facebook to make the announcement, Falcifer said “As part of our engagement we have decided we will be donating half of our performance fee to Girls Rock Melbourne, a contribution which Unify has offered to match dollar for dollar.

We’ve chosen Girls Rock because we firmly believe in the work they are doing surrounding the empowerment of female, non-binary and trans artists but also to acknowledge the hard work and unpaid hours they put in last year with Outright HC at Unify.

Ladies, non-binary and trans people we hear your voices and we will use our last breath screaming for change.”
