DZ Deathrays to donate profits from their upcoming Townsville show to QLD flood relief

Queensland rockers and Official Nice Guys DZ Deathrays are harnessing their powers for good, not for evil, by using both their upcoming gig in Townsville and their social media profiles to raise money for people affected by the recent floods that have ravaged the Sunshine State.

DZ Deathrays have announced plans to donate the profits from their upcoming Townsville show to those affected by the recent QLD floods.

In a statement released via the band’s Facebook account, DZ Deathray’s said:

“After hearing about the unprecedented and devastating flooding across Northern Queensland, we have decided to donate all profits of our Townsville show at Darymple Hotel next month to GIVIT who are providing much-needed support and provisions to flood victims,”

“If you’re interstate or can’t make it along to the Townsville show, we encourage you to donate money or items. Our hearts go out to those affected, dig deep mates.”

The trio is currently undertaking a massive tour of regional Australia, with just over a month left of shows across Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT.

They have also set up a donation system via their Facebook page for those who are unable to attend the show, encouraging fans around Australia and abroad to financially support the flood relief.

The recent floods that hit North Queensland saw graziers lose over 500,000 cattle, with losses clocking up to around $300 million. A total of 11,800 insurance claims amounting to a combined total of $147 million were seen in Townsville alone.
