Damon Albarn shares details and teaser video for new Gorillaz album

Earlier this month, it was reported that Damon Albarn left the masters for the upcoming Gorillaz album in the back seat of a taxi.

Well, the masters have since been returned to their owner… and now Albarn has shared the details and a groovy new teaser video for the almost-lost new record.

A few weeks after almost losing the masters to the new Gorillaz album in the back of a taxi, Damon Albarn has shared the details and a teaser video for the new record.

Last year’s Humanz was Gorillaz first album in six years, and shortly after its release, the band’s illustrator Jamie Hewlett suggested we wouldn’t have to wait long for the follow-up.

It has now been made official, with Albarn announcing that the new album – titled The Now Now – is set to be released on June 29th.

He has also shared an eight-second long teaser video, which suggests we’re in store for something super funky.

The short clip features a sample of synth-driven disco music, as well as some flashing silhouettes of the band’s cartoon alter egos.
