Yep that’s right, Chuck Berry is still kicking. The seminal rock n’ roll pioneer has reached the ripe old age of 90, and to celebrate he’s announced his first album since 1979’s Rock It.
Chuck will arrive in 2017 via Dualtone Records, and will feature original songs written, recorded and produced by Berry himself.
According to Chuck Berry, there’s no such thing as too old. At a healthy 90 years young, he’s still cracking out hard rocking tunes with his St. Louis band.
Chuck is dedicated to Berry’s wife Themetta Berry, and was recorded with his usual backing band consisting of his children Charles Berry Jr. and Ingrid Berry on guitars and harmonica respectively, Jimmy Marsala on bass, pianist Robert Lohr and drummer Keith Robinson.
More details on Chuck are set to be released in the next couple of weeks.
