Chronic fatigue from over eating? Sweater Beats picks 5 perfect film soundtracks to chill to

As we all recover from stuffing our faces with Christmas ham and beer, we are left with a feeling that scientists refer to as ‘Jabba the Hutt Syndrome’. You’re too engorged to get off your ass, but still require some sort of entertainment to stimulate your brain. Since feeding your enemies to Rancors and Sarlaacs tends to be frowned upon by the local authorities, what better way to spend the time than to chill with a few choice films, not to mention some solid film soundtracks.

So when it comes to picking such soundtracks why not turn to movie buff / beat maker extraordinaire Sweater Beats. Known to his loved ones as Antiono Cuna, Sweater Beats has been pumping out his dreamy R&B and pop soaked beats since 2011. He’s charmed punters across the globe with his Cloud City EP, not to mention his many remixes such as his brilliant take on Kanye West’s All Day he did with Mark Johns. Cuna was recently in Australia for a couple of shows over the Christmas weekend, so we had him weigh in on what he felt were the best movie soundtracks to chill to while locked in a food coma.

best film soundtracks

Looking for a way to pass the time when you’re too full from Christmas pudding to do anything? Your boy Sweater Beats has picked his 5 movie soundtracks to get you out of that pickle.

Drive (Kavinsky – Nightcall)

I think the cohesiveness between the visuals, vibe, and music to this movie is impeccable. And how perfect is it having Kavinsky on this.

The Virgin Suicides (Air – Playground Love)

This soundtrack gives me so many feelings all the way through. Sometimes I just put it on, sit back and think about existential shit.

Romeo Must Die (Aaliyah – Try Again)

This soundtrack’s got my favorite Aaliyah song on here. And there’s a lot of presence from Timbaland on there too. Definitely my favorite hip-hop soundtrack of all time.

Lost in Translation (Phoenix – Too Young)

I love this soundtrack because it’s heavy on the raw, shoegaze, indie rock vibes. And there’s another Air track on here too!

Tron: Legacy (Daft Punk – Derezzed)

Yeah, I’m a Daft Punk fan boy. I only saw this movie because I knew they were doing the soundtrack. It was such a perfect pairing with the Tron franchise.
