Check out the dazzling first trailer for Neo Yokio, the Netflix anime created by Ezra Kroenig of Vampire Weekend

“Neo Yokio is the greatest city in the world. It is a diverse labyrinth of cultural and architectural innovation. Of course, whenever a city becomes the envy of the world problems are bound to arise.”

Ezra Kroenig, frontman of Vampire Weekend and apparently also a showrunner, has unveiled the first trailer for his upcoming Netflix anime Neo Yokio. Complete with Dragonball-Z style energy battles, flying robots and a healthy dose of awkward teen drama, it looks ripe to be a hit.

Starring Jaden Smith as a pink-haired magistocrat and Jude Law as a robot butler, Ezra Kroenig’s Netflix anime Neo Yokio has our full attention.

The two main characters are voiced by Jaden Smith and Jude Law, while the rest of the cast also includes Susan Sarandon, Tavi Gevinson, Jason Schwartzman, the Kid Mero and Desus Nice. Other voice contributors include Steve Buscemi, Kiernan Shipka, Willow Smith, Richard Ayoade, Stephen Fry, and Amandla Stenberg. It’s stacked.
