So many gigs, so little time. This is the time of the year where most nights there are four or five good gigs to go to every week. Forget about the Chris Brown tour being cancelled, there’s plenty to do this weekend. Why not start with these 4 gigs?

Unknown Mortal Orchestra – Metro Theatre, Sydney, Friday 4th of December

UMO are in Australia, finally! Ruban Neilson and co. are hitting up a bunch of great festivals over the next few weeks including Fairgrounds and Meredith. They are also playing a run of sideshows which are sure to be crackers. This weekend they play Sydney’s Metro Theatre before heading down to Berry for Fairgrounds. Our sales guy Nic Wheatley will be there. Keep an eye out for the tall dickhead in the front row screaming “Ruban have my babies!”

Teeth & Tongue – Hugs and Kisses, Melbourne, Friday 4th of December

Alt-pop sweethearts Teeth and Tongue have been working very hard on a new album. Fans will have to wait a little while for new sounds to hit the interwebs but if you want to get a taste of what the band have been doing, get down to Hugs and Kisses to see them premiere some stuff live! Support comes from Darren Sylvester.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard + GOAT – The Croxton, Melbourne, Friday 4th December

What a double headliner. King Gizzard are always mind-blowing live, lacing together jams and continuous musical threads into a crazy psychedelic tapestry, but with the addition of Swedish experimentalists GOAT, this night is sure to melt some fucking brains. Come for the Gizz, stay for the GOAT.

Gold Class – The Foundry, Brisbane, Friday 4th December

Gold Class are one of the most exciting young bands to break out this year, chilling audiences with their icy demeanors and post-punk attitude. Their live show is really really good. Make sure you catch them in Brisbane this weekend for some serious Ian Curtis vibes. Playing with Per Purpose and Pleasure Symbols.
