Watch Björk give her wacky wonderful first TV performance in 8 years

Overnight Björk slipped into something comfortable and stopped by Later… With Jools Holland for her first television performance in eight years.

She opened with Courtship, a track from her 2017 album Utopia, before revisiting old classic The Anchor Song, which appeared on her 1993 album Debut.

Joined by an ensemble of female flutists, Björk casually made her first TV appearance in eight years garbed in her full Utopia getup.

Given that Björk has released three albums (Biophilia, Vulnicura and Utopia) since last dropping into a TV studio, this performance is pretty significant.

Fittingly, she went all out, dressing the stage like a naturalistic paradise and dressing her ensemble in gear similar to what we saw on the Utopia cover art and press shots.

Watch the performance below.

The latest from the Icelandic artist was a remix EP centred around Utopia single Arisen My Senses, with contributions from Lanark Artefax, Jlin, and Kelly Lee Owens. It was released on ‘slug genitalia’ coloured vinyl.
