Barack Obama lists his favourite tracks of 2018

We’ve known about President Barack Obama’s music tastes for a while now. I mean, Aretha Franklin performed at his first inauguration for godsakes. But today, Obama has shared a list of his favourite tracks of 2018.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this playlist is pretty solid. With tracks from Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile and Janelle Monáe, Obama has you sorted.

Continuing his yearly tradition, Barack Obama has shared a list of his favourite tracks of 2018… and it’s pretty damn solid.

As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favourite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists. It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved,” Obama said in a Facebook post this morning.

It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers – some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before. Here’s my best of 2018 list – I hope you enjoy reading, watching, and listening.”
