PREMIERE: Ascend into glitch-reggae heaven with SUB-TRIBE’s new single

SUB-TRIBE have unveiled their laid-back, slow jamming new single Who’s That; an infectious reggae and glitch groove.

Deriving from the raw, roots-driven frequencies of Aotearoa (New-Zealand), the electronic dub six-piece have one thing in spades… Vibe!

SUB-TRIBE, the New Zealand reggae roots outfit, have mixed up a groovy hit in a soupy glitch cauldron they can proudly call their own.

From chunky skank reggae to blues-drenched glitch-hop, SUB-TRIBE’s latest single stays heavy on the bass. The incredibly catchy chorus hook will be chiming in our ears for days to come.

Who’s that knockin’ on my front door? Is it my baby, I’m not sure” they chant with vocals sweet as honey. In a wobbly, reggae wonderland, the song rocks through the groove incorporating flavours from many genres and cultures.

Combine Fat Freddy’s Drop with an extra shot of glitch, warp and reggae sway, and you have the sonic elements of Who’s That. With a solid new track under their belt, SUB-TRIBE are marking out an unprecedented take on dub-fusion.

The band exploded onto the music scene in 2016 supporting New Zealand’s dub pioneers, Salmonella Dub, as they toured the east coast of Australia. Evolving their sound further, they shortly set off on their own East Coast tour which included an appearance at Yours and Owls Festival.

The six-headed soul monster released their first single Next Phase in January, and Who’s That is the next instalment from their upcoming flavoursome EP.

As SUB-TRIBE set out on their unchartered navigation of reggae and dub-fusion the waters look smooth and the wind is at their backs. Don’t trim the sails!
