Are Vampire Weekend about to announce a new album? Computer says yes

If you’ve been hanging out for Vampire Weekend‘s follow-up to 2013’s Modern Vampires of The City, it looks like you won’t have to wait too long.

This week the band announced their first show in four years, headlining End of the Road Festival in the UK, which is a pretty clear hint that they are kicking back into action. Now they’ve revamped their website which, if history has taught us anything, is another sign that the band have got something on the way.

Vampire Weekend seem to be kicking into gear again, having announced their first show in four years and given their website a revamp. Could a new album be far off?

The website is now just white with the classic futura Vampire Weekend logo emblazoned in the middle. There’s also a Sony Music Entertainment copyright notice down the bottom of the page. The band have previously released their music on XL, so this hints at a label change.

Last September, frontman Ezra Koenig tweeted that a new album is 80% done, but that the “last 20% is always the hardest”. He also said in an interview that the LP, which is to be their fourth, had a working title of Mitsubishi Macchiato, and was influenced by working with Kanye West.

Stay tuned for more details! But if these hints are anything to go by, it shouldn’t be long until we get an official announcement.
