Arcade Fire hit back hard at those Kylie and Kendall Jenner tees with their very own rip-off

Last week celeb superstars Kylie and Kendall Jenner pulled off one of the most belligerent cultural faux pas of the year, slapping their faces upon iconic designs from The Doors, Pink Floyd and other classic bands, printing them on tees and attempting to sell them for $125 a pop.

Luckily it was only a few hours before a ton of bricks in the form of some high-end cease and desist letters landed on the gals. The shirts disappeared. That was, until Arcade Fire decided they wanted to enter the fray.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner have had their image appropriated without permission and Arcade Fire are selling it. Damn, that must feel awful!

The band was snapped selling their version of the design at their latest London show. Currently there’s nothing of the sort online, but here’s hoping. That tee is absolute hipster bait.

After the backlash from the original shirts went into overdrive, the Jenner sisters took to Twitter, apologising for the mistake:

“These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologise to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists. We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway.”

“The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed. We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.”
