Apple is amongst the latest big corporates to integrate their support for same sex marriage into their marketing strategies, this time using the vocals of non other than Courtney Barnett.
A strong advocate for same sex marriage and recently married to her partner Jen Cloher, Barnett takes on the acclaimed INXS hit Never Tear Us Apart.
In a teary and exquisitely shot clip, the joy of love and marriage are showcased through the eyes of same sex couples and their families, all under the melodious vocals of Courtney Barnett.
Titled First Dance, we’re taken through exhilarating moments of tenderness and celebration at the weddings of same sex couples from all walks of life. Although intended to sell iPhones, there’s something so beautiful and moving about the short video which will very likely have you in a bit of a state.
Subtle and yet distinctly hers, Barnett has spoken for the long road same sex couples have travelled here in Australia for legally recognised marriage. A right which was only granted in 2017.
