Abbey Road artist in residence to showcase over 40 years of photographs

Renowned music photographer Jill Furmanovsky’s photos from the iconic Abbey Road Studios are set to be displayed as a full scale exhibition.

Titled Inside Abbey Road Studios, the exhibition will be held at the Barbican in London in April and will include prints, photographs, artefacts and paraphernalia collected from Furmanovsky’s archives.

Furmanovsky’s Abbey Road images are those which capture the intimate and vulnerable moments of music making, behind the smoke and mirrors of the glamorous lifestyle.

Although Furmanovsky has only recently joined the studio as their artist in residence, the photographer has been in and around the venerable landmark since 1975, capturing some of the era’s most celebrated bands including Pink Floyd during the recording of Wish You Were Here.

Since then she has also worked alongside the likes of Nile Rodgers, Royal Blood, and heaps more.
