Here are five gigs and record fairs happening in Sydney for vinyl enthusiasts. Dig through crates, catch cool sets, and do it regularly – here are our top picks.

Newtown Record Fair at the Bank Hotel

Since 2017, the Newtown Record Fair has been taking over the Bank Hotel’s beer garden for the first Saturday of every month. The event plays host to more than 15 record sellers and enthusiasts, selling music of all genres.

Presented by 2SER community radio, the Newtown Record Fair has got DJs, craft beer, food, and you guessed it, vinyl.

Here are the dates for the next few instalments: April 6May 4June 1.

Viva La Vinyl / Darlo Record Fair at the Darlo Bar

Sundays are our favourite day at the Darlo Bar. It brings Viva La Vinyl to the rooftop, along with drink specials and free pool. The next one is going to be chock full with disco, soul, funk and groove, straight from Jay Katz & Miss Death’s incredible vinyl collection. Every week, the good times kick off at 3pm.

What’s more, April 14th will see the launch of Darlo Record Fair. In partnership with Listen Up records, the fair will be held downstairs at the Darlo on the second Sunday of every month, hosting a huge range of Sydney vendors led by Listen Up’s Doz, community legend and human record encyclopaedia. Have a dig around, then head upstairs to Viva La Vinyl.

Gonzo’s Soul Club at Waywards, the Bank Hotel

Gonz (who recently bought Australia’s largest record collection) has been hitting up Waywards (upstairs at The Bank) every Saturday for some time now, running a vinyl-only boogie night of soul, disco, funk and more. The night kicks off at 10pm every Saturday and runs through to 4am.

Get your groove on and stop by Waywards this Saturday to get a piece of the fuss.

Glebe Record Fair at the Peter Forsyth Auditorium

The Glebe Record Fair has become a Mecca amongst record lovers and music enthusiasts across Australia. Masterminded by Baz & Ric from Egg Records, the fair happens twice a year and hosts more than 100 stalls, including representatives from some of Australia’s leading independent record stores.

The next one is happening on April 27.

Hurstville Collectable and Music Record Fair at the Marana Auditorium

Boasting a massive collection of vinyl and other collectables, the Hurstville Collectable and Music Record Fair happens four times a year. If you live further towards the south side of Sydney, it’s got your vintage needs well and truly covered.

Here are the next few dates: June 2August 18October 27.
