This is not a drill. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are planning to release 4 records in 2017

Pretty much every article ever written about King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard starts off with a line about how goddamn prolific they are; but this time it’s completely warranted. The band are planning on putting out four albums in 2017.

True to form, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are gearing up to release four studio albums in 2016.

In an interview with triple J frontman Stu McKenzine revealed that 2017 is going to be massive one for the band: “We’re actually working on four separate projects at the moment, which hopefully we can release next year sometime.

“Four Gizzard albums, I guess next year, that’s the idea,” clarified drummer and Flightless Records (Gizzard’s label) honcho Eric Moore. McKenzie went on to say, “They’re all kind of distinct little ideas that we’ve been toying with for a little while.

In the meantime, the band are still working on a visual representation of their latest record, Nonagon Infinity, alongside longtime visual collaborator Jason Galea (who features in Happy Mag issue # 2);  “That’s in the works too. Jason Galea, who works on most of our visual stuff, is working on animated section at the moment.”

“But I haven’t seen Jase for the last two weeks,” Eric said.

Because he’s been editing pixels — living off dim sims and barbeque chips,” says McKenzie, “I think the Nonagon movie is going to be pretty insane.

Lots of Gizzard madness in the works. Keep your eyes peeled.
