The votes are in and Violent Soho’s WACO was the favourite album of 2016 for triple j listeners

It’s that time of the year, and every day for the past month we’ve been seeing tastemakers and publishers roll out their ‘Best of 2016’ lists. Last Friday Happy Mag rolled out our top 100 songs of 2016, and it just cemented what a cracker of a year it was for Aussie music.

One of the weightiest tastemakers in Australia, triple j, now plays a huge part in the Aussie music game. While their Hottest 100 countdown is arguably the music event of the year, their popular vote for listeners’ favourite album usually flies a bit further under the radar.

The votes have been counted, and yesterday Richard Kingsmill had the pleasure of broadcasting the results.
