Although The National’s front-man Matt Berninger is busy with his new side project EL VY, the band has just started work on a new album, which will be their first album release since Trouble Will Find Me in 2013.
Berninger told NME “We did a camp out retreat in New York a couple of months ago, and we’re having another one in LA in a few weeks. We have 30 sketches of songs so far.” While working on the album, they have been taking inspiration from their surroundings, and have been using various New York town names as working titles for new songs. The National will be gracing our shores next year to headline Byron Bay’s Bluesfest.
