Syrian artist forces world leaders into his shoes by painting them as struggling refugees

I don’t think anyone has seen Trump wearing anything other than a suit and tie, which is most likely the case with most world leaders. That was until Syrian artist Abdalla Al Omari painted them as struggling refugees.

The series of paintings has been named The Vulnerability Series and shows a very upset looking Trump, along with Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and more.

Abdalla Al Omari is the artist who dared to turn the tables and paint various world leaders in almost exactly opposite places of power and as refugees.

The intention is to paint these leaders as victims of war, displaced civilians and asylum seekers. Omari was once a refugee himself, fleeing Syria as a result of the civil war in 2011.

Omari was granted asylum in Belgium and having been a refugee, hopes his work will send a message to those in power. He hopes they will see feel the vulnerability that he has felt and to take some responsibility for the mass-displacement of Syrians.
