St. Vincent’s new signature guitar collection from Music Man has just been revealed, and one of the models is named after David Bowie.

The model made its debut back in 2015 when St. Vincent joined Taylor Swift onstage in LA. Now, after a two year wait, the guitar is in production and will be avaliable to purchase from March 3rd.

The guitar will come in four colours: Stealth Black, Tobacco Burst, Heritage Red, and Polaris White, which Clark has specifically dubbed the Thin White Duke after the late David Bowie.

“It’s a classic, elegant-looking guitar,” she recently told Guitar World, later adding, “I’ve been playing it every single day, putting it through its paces and writing song after song on it.”

Talking to Guitar World about the design, she said:

“I really had total free reign. I could have revamped one of their existing models or started from scratch and done my own. I ended up just starting from scratch. My particular guitar is based a lot on [Eighties German synthpop artist] Klause Nomi’s aesthetic, the Memphis design movement, which was an [Eighties] Italian design movement, those Sixties and Seventies Japanese designed guitars like the Tescos and then I went for classic car colors. I really like cars so I went for a ’67 Corvette with the color scheme.”

A press release further details the guitar:

“Featuring an African mahogany body, Ernie Ball Music Man tremolo, gunstock oil and hand-rubbed rosewood neck and fingerboard, St. Vincent inlays, Schaller locking tuners, 5-way pick up selector with custom configuration and 3-mini humbuckers, the guitar also comes complete with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky guitar strings and will retail for $1899.”
