Splendour In The Grass has no time for sexist camper vans turning up to this year’s festival

Splendour In The Grass organisers have given a big f-you to anyone thinking of rocking up in a van slathered with sexist and misogynist slogans at this year’s festival.

Wicked Camper

Splendour In The Grass punters have been warned about hiring vans with sexist and offensive material on them and brining them to this year’s festival.

If you’ve ever been to some sort of festival or camping event, there’s no doubt you would have seen a few Wicked Campers vans lurking around. They’re known for their pretty outlandish artworks, which for the most part, are pretty damn cool and creative. But there are a few that push the line just that little bit too much, sporting comments such as “In every princess there is a little slut who wants to try it just once…” How charming.

Splendour organisers shared a message, stating “If you’re booking a campervan, please steer clear of sexist slogans! You know who you are. It’s 2016. Get with the program.”  Back in 2014 after a petition against the sexist vans was lodged with over 100,000 signatures, Wicked owner John Webb claimed the company would be steering clear of any more misogynist artworks. Doesn’t really seem like that stuck, but hopefully Splendour’s message will have a bit more of an impact and the festival site will see a few more “family friendly” vans taking up camp.
