ShadyBliss

If there’s one thing music is good for, it’s cathartic emotional release and what better way to achieve this than with Shady Bliss’ top freakout tunes?

The Beatles – A Day In The Life

This was the first song that came to mind. Such a beautiful, melodic song that just erupts into an uncomfortable and chaotic orchestral uplift. TWICE.

Portishead – Machine Gun

Dark and airy with unique, jarring drums, Machine Gun is quite a bizarre song from the get-go. But then around 2:30, the drum samples get a little nastier and before long, dirty, heavy synths are dropped over the kick and snare which leave you pulling a mean bass-face.

James Blake – I Never Learnt To Share

What a song. Still my favourite from James Blake. It seems pretty chill up until the 3 minute mark when you start to sense something huge is coming, and then it explodes into some seriously filthy synth work that sounds like you have just started a battle with the final boss on a Super Nintendo game.

Tobacco – Streaker

There isn’t much to be said about this one. Everything about it is just weird and disturbing, especially the video, but it is so intriguing that you just can’t look away. I love it.

Band Of Skulls – Lay My Head Down

To me, this is a perfect song. A simple but pleasurable chord progression leaving plenty of room for the delightful harmonies. Then, out of nowhere comes a filthy explosion ignited by the fuzziest guitar you’ve ever heard.

Shady Bliss recently dropped their own freakout single, Dirty Brain, have a listen if you think you can take it.
