Roxy Music are set to reissue their groundbreaking debut LP in honour of its 45th anniversary

It’s an iconic moment in musical history, the year Roxy Music released their self-titled debut LP. So we’re stoked with the news of a 45th anniversary reissue of the classic album, due for release in early 2018.

Set to include three discs and a DVD with never before seen footage and interviews with members of the band, we can only be upset that it won’t be out before Christmas. The package will also include a 136 page book documenting the band’s history.

The reissue will feature alternate versions of every Roxy Music track in outtake and demo formats, plus recordings of some of their most iconic live moments.

At the time of this record’s release Roxy Music was made up of singer Bryan Ferry, saxophonist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera, drummer Paul Thompson and Brian Eno, who took to synthesisers.

If you can believe it, this record came after just ten live shows together, easily sitting in the compendium of the best music released in that decade. If you have a mate who you know you will forget this Christmas but deserves a late pressie, then this one is for you.
