Round two! Maroochy Music and Arts Festival is gearing up for its biggest edition yet in 2016

The inaugural Maroochy Music Festival in 2015 was a resounding success, nailing pretty much every detail that a festival of this calibre is expected to nail. It’s no wonder then that they’ve upped the ante for round two in 2016 with an even bigger lineup, an immersive arts experience and a vast array of culinary delights.

Marrochy music and arts festival

Maroochy Music and Arts Festival is back in 2016 after a hugely successful inaugural year in 2015. Incredible bands, an immersive art experience and all the good food and drink you could ever want, MMAF has it all.

Topping the bill for the Amphitheatre this year will be the Matt Corby, fresh off the back of his triumphant debut record, Telluric, and party purveyors Peking Duk. The two acts present a balance that MMAF absolutely nailed last year: equal parts dance party and chill fest.

Trailing on the lineup is a deluge of excellent Aussie acts including George Maple, Client LiaisonBad//Dreems, Japanese Wallpaper, Vera Blue, Ngaiire and City Calm Down amongst many, many more.

2016 will also play host to a slew of great up and coming acts who will be taking over the Champagne and Oyster Stage including Alex Lahey, Forevr, BATZ.

In the name of equality, MMAF will also play host to an impressive lineup of DJs who will be taking over the Ghettoblster stage including triple J’s Tom Tilley and Brooklyn-based scratch DJ Total Eclipse.

Last year, the festival played host to a massive installation from eminent artist Amanda Parer – now referred to as the infamous ‘bunnies’. Parer will be returning again in 2016, this time unveiling her latest installation, the luminous Fantastic Planet – check it out here, it’s absolutely insane.

Alongside Fantastic Planet will be an array of artworks and installations scattered across the festival’s grounds, with showcases from Bertie Blackman (yep, she’s an artist too), Chinese street artist Ochid and locals Zoe Porter, Gimiks Born & Thom Stuart.

On the food front, Marrochy Music and Arts Festival are taking things to new heights this year, offering up pretty much anything you could dream up: latin street food or even a cheeky woodfired pizza.

Maroochy Music and Arts Festival is taking place this Saturday, September 10th at the Old Horton Park golf course on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

The final release of tickets is running out real quick, so be sure to jump on it to avoid disappointment. RSVP here and get tickets here.
