PREMIERE: Tour bus vibes, backlit stages and the catchiest tune to date: High Violet’s new clip will completely addict you

It’s been a busy year for the Sydney/Adelaide based four-piece High Violet. They’ve toured with British India, performed a set at the National Live Music Awards and have now released three sensational singles.

The newest release, All I Want is the danciest one to date with a boppy beat, glistening guitar licks and some meticulous vocal performances from Emily Smart and Ricky Kradolfer.

Although High Violet sound like a band that’s been gigging and rehearsing for years, the group first starting playing together as recently as late 2015. This year saw them release their debut track, Only Heart in January and then enchant us further with their hypnotic track, Give In.

In All I Want, the band brings out some serious HAIM vibes to present us with their indie pop goodness. The vocals are what capture the attention at first, but texturally the song is filled with little instrumental snippets from the guitars and percussion that help uphold the sparkly feel of the song.

all i want

The lyrics to All I Want are catchy and caring, bound to capture your heart when combined with High Violet’s synth-pop instrumentation and sentimental melodies.

When they first released the track, it was accompanied by a lyric video that featured famous scenes of romance from well-known films and TV shows. The clips fit in nicely with the song’s starry-eyed lyrics, but now High Violet are releasing the official video for the song to end 2016 with a band.

The film clip acts as a highlight reel for the band over the year, with throwbacks to the filming of earlier music videos, footage of cheeky burger stops, some backstage shenanigans and live footage from gigs.

Needless to say, it looks like 2016 has been a pretty special year for the band. If you pay attention, you might even learn how to get biceps like a High Violet member. The band recruited the help of Joel Chapman and Jon Lemon to help them record, produce, mix and master the song, which was recorded at The Artist’s Lounge in Sydney.

With three very promising singles now under their belt, and a love for the road and live gigging, we can’t wait to see what the band will be doing come 2017.
