RAT!Hammock make the relationship between a chair and table sweeter than ever on Mary The Chair

The contemplative indie pop group out of Melbourne RAT!Hammock is setting up shop at The Tote on the 18th of May to release their latest single Mary The Chair.

Filled with dreamy indie with licks of country, Mary the Chair oozes poetic lyricism and catchy hooks. Romantic but entirely relatable, Mary the Chair is a fun entry into the sound of RAT!Hammock, recalling hazy mornings and sweet love.

Staying true to their honest and raw lyricism, RAT!Hammock takes angst and yearning beyond the predictable and into something pretty lovely on Mary The Chair.

If you’ve heard any more from RAT!Hammock, you’d know that Mary The Chair has got a slightly more pop feel to it than their previous releases. However for the picture these long limbed scruffy boys might present, you’ll still be floored by their adolescent honesty.

No doubt leading up to their EP, RAT!Hammock is hardly band to pass over. Anyone who can make me so empathetic for inanimate objects gets a tick in my book.

If you’re in the mood for a quality night which reminds you that sonic storytelling isn’t dead, then the 18th of May should be on your calendar. Though the band is still in early days, this single launch is sure to be just the beginning.

Supported by Plastic and Way Dynamic, also from Melbourne, the show is set to go off and it seems that from the simple eloquent style that RAT!Hammock leans towards, there’s something here for everyone.
