PREMIERE: Poignant, profound and pounding with rhythm, JKLV finds his confidence with Parallel Series

Popular iterations of electronic music often cause misconceptions about the genre, where it came from and its limitless potential. The fact is that electronic can be every bit as emotional, profound and artistically composed as any other type of music.

While the stylings of newcomer JKLV are firmly rooted in dance music, there’s a greater care evident in his compositions that often falls by the wayside for modern artists. For that, he demands your attention.

Poignant, emotional beatmaking interspersed with interstellar keyboard work forms the backbone of Parallel Series, the new body of work from JKLV.

The JKLV project, a brainchild of producer Jock Lovell, has been uploading originals and remixes to Soundcloud for the last year. Parallel Series is his first real body of work under that banner, a collection that bounces off itself and a huge step in Lovell’s thriving career.

Speaking to Happy, Lovell described his collection like so:

“The Parallel Series has been a slow progression of individual genre, I feel for me it represents a sort of confidence I have finally reached as an artist and it’s cool to be creating in that zone.”

And a progression it is. Interlude (Intro) juxtaposes futuristic piano lines with easy beats and carefully chosen vocal samples, opening the series with stunning emotional efficiency.

Look Up and Parallel Lines find a space that’s more festival friendly, high-end hooks ruling the mix while spacey bass tones drive the work underneath.

The whole Parallel Series paves a promising path ahead for JKLV. Expect to see this name adorning club banners and festival lineups nice and soon.
