PREMIERE: Thunder rolls in from the Central Coast as Maple Moths drop Lightning Falling

Lightning Falling is an electrifying new release from Maple Moths.  Taken off of their upcoming EP A Collection of Horrors, the track rings true to the dreamy psych sound they’ve been developing.

Written and performed by Sean Dwyer, Lightning Falling brings to the table an artfully curated blend of brisk drums and woozy synth. The crisp vocals overlay the track, never losing grip of that enthralling hum.

The sharp and almost obtrusive brevity of Maple Moths’ music lends insight to an artist filled with passion… not to mention a desire to speak loud and speak true.

The track was recorded at Ivory Lane Studios by Grady Henshaw and mixed by Jacob Daalmeyer, the bright clarity in its production is evident and easily leads us to believe that the EP is going to follow suit.

Two seconds into Lightning Falling, Dwyer’s influences stand tall and proud. Dripping in Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, shredded guitar and stomping drums fill the mix like thunder fills the sky.

What we love most about this track is its ability to progress so slowly and subtly that you don’t notice a rising complexity. The effortless transition from bold rock to an almost orchestral, trance-like movement is sublime and speaks to the impact that Maple Moths are capable of creating.

Following on from last single The Necromancer and now Lightning Falling, we can expect to see Maple Moths on stages very soon. An EP tour in the works, plus this epic Central Coast act is taking on a support slot for The Murlocs on August 3rd at Proud Marys, where Dwyer will be performing live alongside David Cunningham on drums and Charlie Band on bass.

And to say we are excited about A Collection of Horrors would be an understatement. Check out the tracklisting below:
