As Spotify reigns supreme, Pandora Radio pulls the pin on Australia and New Zealand

Apparently 1.2 million Australian users aren’t enough, according to Pandora Radio

Having functioned in some capacity since way back in 2000, it’s always a sad day to see such a staple of the online music community take a hit.

Pandora is now one of three streaming services that has ceased operation to Australia and New Zealand, not far behind Deezer and Guvera.

The iconic online radio and music streaming service has just announced it will be shutting down services to Australia and New Zealand, due to tough competition from Spotify and Apple Music.

Services are due to be shut down on July 31 2017 in order to strengthen their focus and expansion of their streaming services to their strongest market, the United States.

Aussies now have even less options than before when it comes to music streaming, despite the large amount of Pandora users.

The internet radio channel turned streaming service has 80 million users worldwide. However, Spotify is far and away still the most popular player in the game.
