Trump must be truly desperate in his search for inauguration performers, as Moby received an offer from the President elect’s office despite his staunch anti-Trump stance. Apparently calling Trump an “actual sociopath” wasn’t clear enough.
Of course, Moby rejected the offer, going far enough as to publicly shame the future prez in an Instagram post. Thanks to Billboard reaching out to the chrome-domed synth wizard, he decided to put together a playlist for the event anyway.
Despite rejecting the offer to DJ at Trump’s inauguration, Moby has put together a scathing playlist for the upcoming Presidential event.
Here’s Moby’s fiery Insta post:
Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump… Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really? I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans. I’m still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?
From the get-go, it’s clear Moby didn’t curate this playlist to sponsor Trump. Featuring everything from American Idiot by Green Day to Fight the Power by Public Enemy, his message is pretty clear.
Check out the playlist below:
Moby’s fondness for calling Trump an idiot shows again as Radiohead’s Idioteque making an appearance, while his anti-establishment fury sparks with the inclusions of Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine and I’m So Bored With the U.S.A. by The Clash.
