King Gizzard are recording their next release. Are you surprised?

This probably isn’t news at all, but Aussie third-eye preachers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are back in the studio, presumably recording their next release.

Given the Gizz’s track record this should hardly come as a surprise. At eight albums already, their discography already looks more like that of 70’s classic rock band than some Aussies who’ve been kicking around for five years. We’d be straight up worried if they weren’t in the studio.

King Gizzard aren’t messing around. Off the back of their huge European tour and in the lead-up to Australian dates, the Aussie psych lords are busy mixed their next offering.

The group took to their Instagram feed to post a photo of frontman Stu looking pretty stoked mid studio sesh. With the amount of time the seven piece has spent recording, it’s pretty much his default environment. He’s right to be comfortable.

Here we go

Following success of their eighth studio album Nonagon Infinity, the band has been catapulted to the forefront of the worldwide psychedelic scene. Known for mind-blowing, trippy live runs and pure musical craziness, there’s no way the Gizz is stopping.

This comes after news that the band would be releasing four albums in 2017, a blistering pace even for these fellas. Chances are, it won’t be long before we hear the first tastes of this next recording, and any ticket holders to their upcoming Gizzfest tour are likely to hear a cheeky demo or two.
