Have a stickybeak at the gear S U R V I V E uses to score Stranger Things with these behind the scenes pics

Unless you’ve been living under a rock wearing industrial-grade earmuffs, you’ll have heard of Stranger Things. And if you’ve heard of the show, you know about the soundtrack.

Austin-based synth lords S U R V I V E are the composers of the 80s-inspired, creeping score which added so much to season one’s success in 2016 (not to discredit the godly status of Netflix), but for a while they kept their studio setup a complete mystery.

Thankfully photographer Alex Kacha has wormed his way into the band’s inner circle, and since they started recording their latest album RR7349 and the season two soundtrack to Stranger Things, he’s been your behind the scenes lens.

What kind of modular synth monstrosities do S U R V I V E keep in their studio? Take a candid look into the lives of the Stranger Things composers with Alex Kacha.

It’s definitely a studio you could lose yourself for days within, their collection of vintage and modular synths would make even the most high-brow synthesizers nerds drool with jealousy.

Check out the rest of the photos below, and find the full series on Kacha’s website.
