Grace Jones, Danny Brown and more: Gorillaz to tour with actual humans off the back of their new album, Humanz

Gorillaz have announced performances from various ‘humans’ to accompany their upcoming US tour, the first in seven years.

Touring off the back of their new album Humanz (which coincidently goes hand-in-hand with this announcement), it will be intriguing to see what the Gorillaz have in store for fans in their live performance.

Danny Brown, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Grace Jones, Kelela, Vince Staples, Popcaan and Pusha T are set to perform amongst the two dimensional Gorillaz we all know and love.

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the two hidden faces behind the Gorillaz, have invited artists such as Danny Brown, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Grace Jones, Kelela, Vince Staples, Popcaan and Pusha T to perform as part of the Humanz tour.

Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D are the two dimensional holograms we all know and love, and pretty much all that is seen on stage during a Gorillaz live show. Questions regarding the avatars’ performances with the variety of other artists are surfacing, with fans clueless as to whether or not the performances will be separate, or a combination of holograms with flesh and blood.

With the release of Humanz set to rain blissful havoc on April 28, marking the Gorillaz’ official comeback date, make sure to make a mental note for any of the below tour dates for those who are overseas, or willing to make the journey.

No announcement has been made for Australia just yet, but one can only hope an overseas tours will bring our favourite avatars down under.
