Gene Simmons says KISS aren’t making a new album but does anybody give a shit?

Since Gene Simmons put his foot in it by labelling Prince’s death as “pathetic”, his credibility has taken a hit in our books.

So after he recently commented that Kiss wouldn’t be making another album citing piracy as the main reason, we’ve once again decided to take his “valued” opinions with a healthy grain of salt.

“Kiss is not a charity.” Good job Gene Simmons, because obviously the only reason anybody ever wrote music was purely to make money.

Speaking to the Sex, Drugs and Rock N’ Roll Radio Show, Simmons has blamed the prevalence of music piracy and illegal file-sharing for Kiss’s lack of musical output of late.

“That’s less of an incentive, because downloading and file sharing. People have convinced themselves they don’t wanna pay for stuff,” he said. “And last time I checked, Kiss is not a charity. We’re philanthropic, but I’ll be the one that decides how much I give and where.”

Well damn, it’s good to know that after selling over 100 million albums worldwide, Simmons and the rest of Kiss still have their priorities straight.

Plus if old mate had bothered to do his research, he would have learned that the music industry has recently recorded two consecutive years of growth for the first time since Napster was invented.

But you know, blast those bloody pirates down in Australia.

Kiss released their last album Monster in 2012.
