From Times Square to lazy llamas, nothing is sweeter than these sweaters by Sam Barsky

Sweater superstar Sam Barsky has been knitting for over 17 years, and has affixed our hearts with his wildly impressive and overwhelmingly adorable designs.

The artist from Baltimore grabs his inspiration from places he’s visited which range from famous monuments to generic locations. He then exhibits them at fairs and in libraries, occasionally selling them online.

Pro knitter Sam Barsky has been making unique sweaters for 17 years. In this time he has depicted animals, famous monuments and even sweaters on sweaters.

Barsky’s sweater art was brought into the spotlight after becoming viral on Reddit, and now he has over 18,000 likes on his Facebook page.

Speaking to Mashable, Barsky began knitting in 1999 with simple patterns which has now amassed to 103 different sweaters. Starting off as “two solid colored sweaters followed from a pattern,” he then progressed to “generic scenery or specific landmarks.”

He’s even gone so far as to depict famous landmarks such as Stonehenge, Times Square and the Golden Gate Bridge and the famous Yellow Brock Road scene in the Wizard of Oz. Currently, he’s working on knitting the animated R&B group The California Raisons and Martin Luther King Jr.

“The Raisin sweater is for a dance at the end of the week in which the theme is “California Raisins,” and the MLK sweater is for the upcoming holiday,” he told Mashable.

Barsky also posts videos on Facebook of the progression of his latest sweater. His first two sweaters of 2017 depict a grapevine and the Bahai Gardens. Below, is a video of his progress:
