PREMIERE: Foxton Kings’ video for Hellcat is an explosion of rock n’ roll attitude

There has been a surge of amazing bands and rock acts coming straight from our pals in Perth.

With their new cut, Foxton Kings could seriously be one to watch. With their new video out for Hellcat, the five piece band show that it’s them who should be sitting on the throne. Foxton Kings picked a simple setting for their hard hitting tune.

Placed in an empty hall of high ceilings and narrow windows, the alt rock boys do what they are best at, ruthlessly performing Hellcat for the black and white clip.

Foxton

Heavy riffs, scorching vocals and attitude all play an integral part in Hellcat, the explosive video from Foxton Kings

Working with Split Mask Media for the shoot, Hellcat cuts between Foxton Kings performing in the hall to mirrored close-ups of our lead singer belting out the track, as well as guitarists and bassists shredding that killer riff.

Whirling the mic by its cord and kicking up the stand our visceral vocalist displays a rockabilly swagger that ties in well with Foxton Kings’ southern blues vibes. Hellcat’s rock and roll chorus heads into a crescendo of heavy cymbal drumming and a fuzz of electric guitar.

With a growling and unexpected breakdown near the end, the smooth clip for Hellcat plays with some little freaky video edits. No, you didn’t see it wrong, his eye definitely twitched funny.

Having only been on the scene since mid-2015, it hasn’t taken Foxton Kings much time to grab the attention of alternative rock punters and the all important interest of promoters as they perform their unique blend of rock, blues and progressive groove.

After receiving approving nods for their first release Black Whip Lovin’ the gents locked themselves away for a month to write and create the demos for an EP.

Traveling to Melbourne, Foxton Kings have partnered up with producer Callan Orr of Avalanche Studios to record their debut EP Crooked Tales, capturing a glimpse of their evolving sound that sets them apart from the rest of the crowd. The EP is “Intertwining stories of the deceivers, rebels and runaways in the undercurrent of society.”

All completed, the gents have returned to Perth and are gearing up for the EP Launch at the Boston, Northbridge with support from fellow Indie Rock favourites Oak Tree Suite and the rock and roll tones of Oh White Mare, with Gala DJ till close.

The launch is happening on June 18th and Foxton Kings have also recently revealed their cover artwork for the EP, championing local WA talent Rachelle Dusting. Be sure not to miss the rise of Foxton Kings, it’s going to happen fast.
