Fleet Foxes announce 10″ EP of tracks recorded during “an intimate evening” in NYC

Fleet Foxes’ new album Crack-Up is one of the most celebrated records of 2017, but it appears they have more up their sleeve following its release back in June.

The band have announced a new EP featuring tracks performed live at New York’s legendary Electric Lady Studios, set to be released on 10″ vinyl in conjunction with Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 24th.

Fleet Foxes The Electric Lady Session

Fleet Foxes are gearing up to release a special 10″ EP, The Electric Lady Session, featuring live tracks from their acclaimed album, Crack-Up.

Titled The Electric Lady Session, the EP will feature live versions of four tracks from Crack-Up, including Cassius, – and Naiads, Cassadies, on the A-side, and Mearcstapa and On Another Ocean (January / June) on the B-side.

As Paste note, each pair of songs was recorded and cut as one long track in order to emphasise the flow and continuity present on the album.

The band recorded the songs at Electric Lady during an “intimate evening hosted by New York’s WFUV back in June, just days before Crack-Up came out.

Check out the art for The Electric Lady Session below. You can find out more on the Record Store Day Black Friday event here. It’s not clear whether the release will be making its way to Australia just yet, as Black Friday is an American event, but you can hit up your local record store to find out.

If not, you can always scour Discogs for a second-hand copy. Just beware of severely jacked up prices – we remember what happened last RSD.

Fleet Foxes are also playing Falls Festival 2017/2018.
