Introducing Flamingo

So I’m sitting there listening to Heart, My which is the most recent release from the three piece band from Adelaide, Flamingo. Originally, I’m engrossed. When I come round, I realise I’m drawing an absolute blank. Ask anyone and they can verify that it’s not a usual occurrence when I don’t have my two cents to contribute. But it’s a not a bad thing because this time all I can do is listen. And it’s good, like porn for your ears*.

Momentarily the song reminds me of something that Flying Lotus would produce and then you hear the vocals, and it all unfolds. They’ve combined this indie melodic vibe with pleasing vocals, along with the Australian go-to sound of glitch experimental electronic. The combination of all three makes it stand out impressively.

These three would be sick to see live, it’s captivating yet fun and no doubt you’ll want to dance. They’ve recently gotten praise from Sydney sensation and FBi SMAC award winner Elizabeth Rose. Next up, the trio will be supporting the infamous Baths, March 16th at Rocket Bar. Grab your tickets here.

*Ed: Don’t be tempted to look up ‘ear porn’. Just… don’t do it.
