She may have left the wizarding world, but Emma Watson is still bringing magic into our lives through her secret book club

Emma Watson is at it again, gifting the unsuspecting public with free books on the New York Subway and London Underground.

That’s right, she is going global, and who’s to say Australia isn’t next on her hit list?

As part of her Shared Shelf feminist book club, Watson is dropping copies of Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom to both brighten the rides of public transport goers and pursue her mission towards gender equality.

The actress has emerged as an influential activist in recent years, serving as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and face of the UN Women’s imitative HeForShe. Now she has taken on the extra role of fairy god mother to all those who aspire to join her feminist movement.

I can tell you that what is really liberating and empowering me through being involved in feminism is that …. that so much of the self-critiquing is gone.” Watson told paper magazine.

You can follow the chronicles of this “undercover librarian” through the Instagram page @oursharedshelf and hashtag #OurSharedShelf. The club, which began in January, is open to anyone who wants to join through Goodreads.
